In Term 3, we will be asking for students from every year level to nominate for SRC leadership. They will be required to make a short speech to their peers about why they would be a great SRC leader. Each student will vote for candidates in their year level, using the preferential voting system. The successful candidates will be announced in after Chapel the following week. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to think about what leadership looks like and learn how to prepare and deliver a speech to their peers.
Having opportunities like this normalizes public speaking, and over time, can lessen the fear some people have of presenting a speech. We encourage students to employ ‘You Can Do It’ strategies of Resilience, Organisation and Persistence and seek to provide an environment where bravery is celebrated.
