Announcing our new Bus Service!

St Marks is pleased to announce we have partnered with local Lutheran schools Cornerstone College, St Michaels (Hahndorf) and Lobethal Lutheran to trial a new school bus network exclusive to our students.

Operating under the banner of HILS (Hills Integrated Lutheran Schools – formerly known as Lutheran Education Adelaide Hills), the new network will provide our school community with safe and reliable transport to and from school, that is affordable, flexible, and convenient.

The HILS bus network routes will include:

Newenham, Spring Lake, Minters Field, Bluestone, Waterford, Martindale

Kanmantoo, Littlehampton, Nairne

Uraidla, Summertown, Piccadilly, Crafers, Stirling, Aldgate, Bridgewater

HILS School connections:

Each bus will be branded with the HILS logo and each individual school logo for easy recognition

How will the new services work?

A dedicated driver has been appointed for each route ensuring consistency regardless of day.

Bookings, payments and virtual tracking of the buses is via the BusMinder app which allows for both regular and casual bookings. We have endeavored to make the cost as affordable as possible, with rates set at $1.50 per regular booking trip, and $2 for casuals. Booking changes can be made up to 30 minutes beforehand via the app.

Trial services will be operating from Tuesday, 1 February, with the official services to begin from Monday, 14 February.

A detailed Bus Handbook outlining more information about the service and the routes, timetables and stops will be available on our website shortly.

Register your interest

St Mark’s is currently seeking families to help trial the service between Tuesday, 1 February and Monday, 14 February. This will give our drivers the opportunity to become familiar with the booking process and the new routes.

If you’d like to register to join the bus service trial, or register your interest to use the bus once formal service begins on Monday, 14 February please contact Cameron Wright (Business Manager) at the school or via email ([email protected]

Will this replace existing services?

Existing bus services and arrangements will not be affected by the new HILS service. Specifically, access for Strathalbyn students on the public bus, access via Department of Education bus services and the Cornerstone College – St Mark’s – Mount Barker High School shuttle will all continue to operate.

We are hopeful that these services will add new, convenient and affordable transport options for our families living further from school.

If you have any questions about the services, please contact the St Mark’s office on 8391 0444.
